This past Friday, my parents moved from here:

Dubai Marina

To here:

Downtown Porbandar

They took with them thirty years of their own memories, packed tightly alongside my sense of a place called home.

Porbandar simultaneously devastates and grounds me. It's just that kind of town. I'm hella excited to get reaquainted.

Dubai, well, Dubai is nothing to me without the friends it now holds ransom from me. In the late, great Dorothy Parker's words:
Oh, seek, my love, your newer way;
I'll not be left in sorrow.
So long as I have yesterday,
Go take your damned tomorrow!

And so we part. So long, sandlands...
